He swam through currents of flowing darkness,
careful to rock with the ebb and flow
of her hips — her breath — her soul.
Her eyes were iridescent,
pale emeralds reflecting galaxies above.
Wind whispered & danced along the sand,
sending electricity down his spine
as he pushed towards the earth —
her soft foundation collapsing into him.
She shuttered a longing cry
and the sky burst into color.
Blending together in one of life’s
pure irreducible epiphanies —
some piece of them lingering
in those stars forevermore.
